A marathon was held before the opening of Chek Lap Kok Airport in 1998
The airport’s No. 3 runway has been under construction for many years. Before its official opening, the authorities held the “Airport·Marathon: Three-runway System 10-Kilometer International Race”, echoing the “Standard Chartered ’98 New Airport Marathon” held before the opening of Chek Lap Kok Airport in 1998. Give citizens the opportunity to set foot on the airport runway for the second time. The competition is hosted by the Hong Kong Athletics Federation, and public registration will begin on October 1.

Location: Hong Kong International Airport Intermediate Runway (Start and End)
Meeting point and arrangement: AsiaWorld-Expo
- Participants must arrive at the designated meeting point – AsiaWorld-Expo within two hours of their respective group and complete the following procedures:
- Qualification verification and security inspection
- Baggage check and storage
- Take the designated transportation to the starting area
- Participants must bring their number bib (with timing chip) and the original registered identity document (Hong Kong Identity Card or other travel document) to the meeting location
- Participants must present their identification documents to the staff to verify whether the personal information on the number bib is consistent with the identification documents
Race categories: Women’s elite group, 10-kilometer challenge group, 10-kilometer non-challenge group, 5-kilometer challenge group, three-kilometer, 10-kilometer wheelchair race
