Korea School Olympics: Fostering Friendship and Respect through Sports
On Wednesday, the 30th, a total of 280 students participated in the first edition of the Korea School Olympics, an event designed to promote physical activity, respect, friendship, and educational values among participants.
The participating schools included CEIP San José Obrero (Rincon del Obispo), CEIP La Acequia (Puebla de Argeme), CEIP Zurbarán, CEIP Virgen de Argeme, CEIP Camilo Hernández, Colegio Sagrado Corazón, IES Alagón, IES Caurium, and IES Galisteo. These institutions came together to encourage students to engage in various sports and activities.
Students participated in a range of sports, including track and field, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, tennis, and traditional games, as well as Padel. This diverse range of activities aimed to promote cooperation, teamwork, and mutual respect among participants.
The Korea School Olympics is an initiative that promotes collaboration between organizations and educational institutions, with the goal of creating a better world through sports. This aligns with the Olympic motto ‘Citius, Altius, Fortis’, which translates to ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together’.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Inter-School Network Promoting Physical Activity and Health and Korea City Hall, with support from organizations such as CPR Korea, AD Fitness Kaurya, Korea City Basketball Club, Kaurya Tennis Club, Piki Padel, and CD Korea.
