Get Ready to Groove: Flutist Cocomi Unveils Sizzling Music Video for Funky New Track ‘Take Five

September 17, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Entertainment

Cocomi’s New Song “Take Five” Music Video to Premiere on YouTube

The‌ music ‍video for Cocomi’s new song ⁤”Take Five,”⁢ a jazz standard, will premiere on YouTube from 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.‍ The song, which was released for pre-release, will be included in Cocomi’s third album “Neos,” to be released on October 18th.

Cocomi said about the “Take Five” music video: “This song‍ is a jazz standard, so I was nervous about performing it, but Hideaki Hagimori arranged ‍it with the concept ⁣of ‘what if a classical composer ⁤arranged it for piano and flute?’ and it was a lot of fun. The music video has a completely different feel to my previous videos. It includes footage of my hobbies, so ⁢I hope you enjoy the slightly‍ more relaxed atmosphere of this music video. For the costume, I chose a concept that I didn’t wear in my first and second albums, in keeping with the album title ⁣’Neos’ (which means new in Greek).”

The second ⁤pre-release single, “Martinu: Sonata for flute, violin and piano H.254 – 1st movement” is ‍also available for download starting today. The second pre-release single is a piece composed by Bohuslav Martinu, who was influenced by French impressionism and jazz, with a unique freshness and rhythmic interplay between three instruments.

The album “Neos” contains five songs in total, including Martinu’s “Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano, Op. 86” and “Take Five” by Nikolai Kapustin, a Ukrainian⁢ composer who incorporated new jazz ‍idioms into classical music.

Participating ‍artists include young, up-and-coming artists in the classical music world, such as ⁣Atsushi Yamanaka, a‍ talented pianist who also works as a composer⁤ and arranger, Harumasa Sato, the first Japanese to win‍ the cello category at the Munich International Music Competition, and Ryota Azuma, a violinist who⁢ is expanding his field of work to include dubbing performances for television and anime.

Cocomi has just announced that she will ‌hold a recital in Tokyo and Osaka in December of this year. The⁢ recital will feature many songs from⁤ her third album, “Neos,” and she will be⁣ joined by pianist Atsushi Yamanaka, violinist Ryota Higashi, and ‍cellist Masanori Yabe.
