Starting from Monday, September 9, Romanians can invest money in TEZAUR government securities with maturities of 1, 3 and 5 years.

Attractive annual interest rates are 5.80%, 6.60% and 7% respectively. From the beginning of 2024, in the 9 shows, over 242,000 people chose to invest more than 10.5 billion lei.

Between September 9, 2024 – October 3, 2024, natural persons, registered in the SPV, can buy online securities issued through State Treasury units.

They can open a subscription account in the name of the investor in a selected State Treasury unit, subscribe to TEZAUR state securities, transfer the amounts from the investor’s subscription account to a bank account, another subscription account, or an IAU account.

Between September 9, 2024 – October 4, 2024, government bonds can be purchased at the headquarters of the State Treasury units.

Between September 9, 2024 – October 3, 2024 in urban areas and September 9 – October 2, 2024 in rural areas, they can be purchased through the postal subunits of CN Poșta Română SA

The income obtained from investment in government bonds issued by the Ministry of Finance is not taxable, and the interest is annual, payable on the terms set out in the issuing prospectus.

Government securities issued under the TEZAUR Program are transferable and redeemable in advance. Investors have the freedom to make one or more subscriptions within an issue or to cancel subscriptions already made during the subscription period only, by submitting a request.

Natural persons who have reached the age of 18 on the date of subscription are eligible. The money received by the Ministry of Finance as the issuer, as a result of issuing government securities, will be used to finance the budget deficit and refinance the public debt, according to the official website Ministry of Finance
