toconoma Releases Music Video for Digital Single “SignaL” and Announces New Album “ISLAND”

Instrumental band toconoma has released the music video for their digital single “SignaL,” which was released on September 18th. This song is toconoma’s second single of 2024, a high-speed funk tune that seems to be rushing up to a new stage, and the energy condensed into 3 and a half minutes gives a sense of the new future of toconoma.

The music video was shot in a fully LED studio and features a fast-paced performance against a backdrop of motion graphics that represent signals traveling around the world. The video also features the members trying their hand at dancing for the first time, making it a symbolic video of the band’s new stage.

The release of the long-awaited new album was also announced. Four years after their previous album “VISTA,” the band will release their fifth full-length album “ISLAND” on November 6th, which was created from the lifestyle of balancing work and music activities that they have been continuing since the band’s formation. The album title contains their spirit of proposing Japan’s unique emotional musicality to the world with a dance beat.

A total of nine songs will be included, including the singles “Quest4” and “Futurez” released in 2022, the single “Open World” released in June that opens the door from everyday life to the next world, and the latest single “SignaL.” Furthermore, it was announced that “toconoma 5th ALBUM “ISLAND” RELEASE PARTY” will be held at Shibuya WWW X on November 17th.
