We are seeking talented brass players to perform a concerto with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra at the “Love & Thanks Concert” sponsored by Aiplan Co., Ltd. in 2025. The concert is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara Main Hall.
Purpose
The “Love & Thanks Concert” aims to provide an opportunity for experienced performers to showcase their talents with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. This year, we are looking for brass players who are passionate about music and eager to share their skills with the audience.
Application Guidelines
Eligible Instruments: Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba
Eligibility: Brass players (trumpet, etc.) aged 25 or older (born before January 31, 1999) residing in Hokkaido. Those who have already performed in recitals (horn, trombone, tuba) are eligible. Anyone interested in performing a concerto at the Love & Thanks Concert on September 17, 2025 (excluding those currently affiliated with a professional symphony orchestra).
Concerto Candidates:
- Trumpet: Hummel/Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, Haydn/Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, Arutunian/Trumpet Concerto
- Horn: Mozart/Horn Concerto No. 3 in E-flat major, Mozart/Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat major, R. Strauss/Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major
- Trombone: F. David / Concertino for Trombone in E-flat major, L. Gröndahl / Trombone Concerto, Rimsky-Korsakov / Trombone Concerto
- Tuba: Vaughan Williams/Tuba Concerto, E. Gregson/Tuba Concerto
How to Apply
1. First Application:
- Write your name, age, work history, address, phone number, email address, and the piece you would like to perform.
- Apply by mail or through the dedicated form.
- Deadline: Thursday, October 31, 2024
2. Second Application:
- Send a DVD or USB containing a recording of all movements of the selected piece (the orchestral parts must be accompanied by piano).
- Deadline: Friday, January 31, 2025

What is the “Love & Thanks Concert”?
This concert is being held in collaboration with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Hokkaido’s only professional orchestra, which Ai Plan supports. Through our support of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, we hope to help promote and develop classical music in Hokkaido.
