The latest Amazon Kindle Basic is set to launch on October 1st, boasting an array of exciting features and upgrades. A recent preview on a Spanish website revealed the device’s sleek design and impressive specifications.

Enhanced Display and Design

The new Kindle Basic features a 6-inch e-ink display with a resolution of 300 PPI, providing a crisp and clear reading experience. Although it’s unclear whether the device uses E INK Carta 1200 technology, the recessed screen and frame design ensure a more comfortable reading experience. The front-lit screen offers stronger contrast and smoother page turning at maximum brightness, making it perfect for reading in various lighting conditions.

Sustainability and Performance

Amazon has prioritized sustainability in the design of the new Kindle Basic, using 75% recycled plastic and 90% recycled magnesium metal in its construction. The packaging material is also eco-friendly, made from 98% wood fiber sourced from sustainably managed forests or renewable resources. In terms of performance, the device supports Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi, and USB-C interfaces, with 16 GB of storage capacity and up to 8 weeks of battery life on a single charge.

The new Kindle Basic measures 10.85 x 15.78 x 0.8 cm and weighs 154 g, making it a compact and portable device. It will be available in black and matcha green, with an expected price of around 119 euros (approximately HK$1,033).
