As of today, August 21, 2025, all residents aged 65 and over are entitled to a 50% reduction in fares on nearly all forms of public transport throughout the country, regardless of the region they call home.
This impactful program extends beyond urban buses to include the Santiago Metro, the Valparaíso Trolleys, the Biotren in the Biobío region, subsidized boat services in the south, and even rural bus lines. In Santiago, seniors utilizing the integrated transport system (Red, Metro, and Metrotren) pay a reduced fare of just $350 CLP, irrespective of travel time or the number of connections made.
How to Obtain yoru Discount Card

Through Your Pension Fund (Caja de Compensación)
- Contact your pension fund directly. here are the relevant numbers:

- Request the senior citizen transport card. It will be mailed directly to your address.
