Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition Announced With Story Expansion and Survival Mode

Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions announced the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, scheduled for release on October 1, 2026, according to reporting by GamePro and PlayCentral. The upcoming package arrives alongside a major story expansion, a new survival mode, and a free update for existing owners of the PlayStation 5 action-adventure title.

The Complete Edition will retail for 79.99 euros, while current owners of the base game can purchase the new content separately through an upgrade package, as reported by GamePro. PlayCentral noted that players who purchase the complete bundle or the upgrade prior to September 30, 2026, will receive an early unlock of the Sakai armor, which echoes the family armor of Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.

Echos von Sekigahara Story Expansion and New Regions

At the core of the paid add-on is the story expansion titled Echos von Sekigahara, which shifts between past and present timelines in Atsu’s journey, according to GamePro. In the present day, players explore an uncharted valley once inhabited by the Serpent and her loyal followers, the Vipers.

PlayCentral detailed that the historical sequences transport Atsu to the Battle of Sekigahara, illuminating a pivotal moment before her revenge campaign. Sucker Punch confirmed that the expansion introduces new narrative chapters, additional map areas, tough weapons, armor sets, color options, and fresh Trophies, as well as additions to the photo mode.

Meistgesucht Roguelike Survival Mode and Character Classes

Alongside the narrative content, the update introduces a single-player combat survival mode named Meistgesucht, featuring repeatable runs with roguelike elements, according to PlayCentral. Players accept bounty contracts, defeat enemies, and earn rewards that unlock new playable characters with distinct weapon preferences.

GamePro outlined the playable roster for the mode, noting that Atsu wields dual katanas, Oyuki uses the kusarigama, and Nagato engages foes with the yari spear. This variety aims to drive different tactical approaches across repeated gameplay sessions, according to PlayCentral.

Free Patch 2.0 and Quality-of-Life Additions

For players who do not purchase the expansion, Sucker Punch will release a free update, Patch 2.0, on October 1, 2026, according to PlayCentral. This patch includes a feature called Schönheit von Yōtei, which presents the landscapes of Ezo in a screensaver-like view suitable for photo mode captures.

PlayCentral also reported that the free update introduces a transmog system allowing players to apply the appearance of one armor set onto the stats of another, alongside a high-contrast accessibility mode. The Complete Edition itself bundles the base game, the Ghost of Yōtei Legends multiplayer mode, and digital content previously tied to the Digital Deluxe Edition.
