A ⁤stark ​new analysis⁢ reveals a deepening crisis in Italy’s National Health Service (NHS), with critically important regional disparities in access to essential​ care. Just 13 of Italy’s 20 regions are currently meeting the required standards for providing these services – known as Essential ​Levels of Assistance⁢ (LEA) – either free of charge or through co-payment. Veneto leads the nation in performance, but the picture across the country⁤ is deeply uneven.

The findings, released​ by the Gimbe Foundation following a review of the Ministry of Health’s 2023 ‘Monitoring ⁣of the Lea’ report, underscore ​a​ troubling trend: the gap between the north and south of Italy isn’t just persisting, it’s ‍widening.
