Mads Pedersen Wins Giro d’Italia Stage, Del Toro Extends lead

Mads Pedersen sprinted to victory in Stage 13 of the Giro d’Italia, marking his fourth stage win in this year’s race. The danish cyclist managed to hold off Wout van Aert in a challenging uphill sprint near the end of the 112-mile route from Rovigo to Vicenza. Isaac del Toro of Mexico finished third, further solidifying his position in the general classification for the Giro d’Italia results.
Del Toro’s performance earned him a four-second bonus, adding to the two seconds he gained in an intermediate sprint. He now leads his UAE Team Emirates teammate, Juan Ayuso, by 38 seconds in the overall standings.Antonio Tiberi of italy is in third place, trailing by another 40 seconds.simon Yates of britain currently holds fourth place as he aims for his first Grand Tour victory as 2018.
“I went a bit earlier than I really wanted to but on such a hard uphill final like this sometimes it’s OK to go early because everyone has burning legs the last 100 meters,” Pedersen said.
