Glastonbury 2025: Four Tet, Self Esteem & Shangri-La’s Revamp
The Glastonbury Festival 2025 launched with a reimagined Shangri-La area and a surprise set by Four Tet and Floating Points.
The eccentric Shangri-La area received a makeover this year. David Levene toured the revamped space Thursday afternoon.
Later that night, Four Tet (Kieran Hebden) and Floating Points (Samuel Shepherd) played a back-to-back set at Floating Points’ Sunflower Sound System in Silver Hayes. The sound system featured mycelium-based sound-baffling discs and tweeters hung from the tent’s top,with six stacks arranged in a circle around the dance floor.
Thursday evening saw crowds gathering at the Lonely Hearts Club in Silver Hayes for Nooriyah’s midnight set.
Friday’s events included a Guardian Live talk at Astrolabe featuring Zoe williams and Bimini.
Photographer David Levene captured newlyweds Charlie and charles in the southeast corner near the Rum Shack.
Ca7riel and Paco amoroso delivered a high-energy performance, engaging the audience with thier online-culture-infused music, said Safi Bugel.
Lola Young performed at Woodsies, with Jonny Weeks capturing the British artist’s performance. Young rose to fame with her track “Messy.”
As the evening progressed, Busta Rhymes took the other stage, Self Esteem performed at the Park stage, and The 1975 closed the Pyramid stage.
