GLIM SPANKY Marks a Decade of Music Magic: Celebrates 10-Year Milestone with Electrifying Collaboration and New Single Release
GLIM SPANKY Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Virtual Singer Kafu Collaboration
GLIM SPANKY, a Japanese rock duo, has released a new collaboration song with virtual singer Kafu, titled ”Himitsu wo Kimi ni feat. Kafu.” The song was released digitally, along with a lyric video.
The collaboration between GLIM SPANKY and Kafu began in 2020 when Kafu released a cover of GLIM SPANKY’s ”Utsukushii Toge” on YouTube. The two artists have since worked together on several projects, including the collaboration project “Kumikyoku,” which was launched by Kafu in 2021.
Remi Matsuo of GLIM SPANKY, who produced the lyric video, commented on the project: “I like to take pictures of moments in life that I find beautiful, and I hope that one day I will be able to use them for something. When we started talking about making a lyric video for ‘Himitsu wo Kimi ni,’ we came up with the idea of using the footage we had taken, so we scraped together some old footage and put it together.”
The lyric video features original animation and processing created by THINKR’s video director, which connects the footage to make a special video. Matsuo hopes that the video will make viewers feel that everyday life is always dramatic.
GLIM SPANKY is also set to release their first greatest hits album this fall, which will be a part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.
