Regarding this, Jeong Su-yeon, a researcher at the Korea Institute of Intellectual Property, said, “With the emergence of new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and video design, global companies are accumulating massive patent data and strengthening their market dominance.” She emphasized, “In this situation, the recently implemented Industrial Property Information Act can serve as a good foundation for creating new intellectual property from new digital technologies. Since Korea has world-class IT infrastructure, if domestic companies strategically utilize patent big data for R&D based on the Industrial Property Information Act, they will have a strong growth engine that can lead the digital economy.”
