Venezuela’s national Assembly President Denounces “Genocide of Gaza” at New World Forum
Caracas, Venezuela – Jorge Rodríguez, President of Venezuela’s National Assembly, delivered a scathing condemnation of the ongoing conflict in Gaza during the closing ceremony of the New World Forum, labeling the situation ”the worst crime perpetrated on humanity in the 21st century.” His impassioned address, delivered to an international audience, focused on what he described as the systematic extermination and genocide occurring in the Palestinian territory.
Accusations of Dehumanization and Brutality
Rodríguez drew a stark parallel between the actions of the current Israeli government and ancient atrocities, directly accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s management of employing “Nazism” as a strategy. He elaborated on this point, stating, “The objective of the Nazism in the government of Netanyahu is to strip away the human condition, to eliminate the condition of human beings in order to then subdue them as if they were beasts.”
The Venezuelan official expressed profound disappointment and shame at the international community’s perceived inaction, lamenting, “What a shame for all of humanity that Benjamin Netanyahu exists, it is a shame for all of us (…) it is a shame for us human beings that there is a being devoid of humanity who is not only a murderer, not only a genocidaire, but also a cynic!” His words underscored a deep sense of moral outrage and a call for greater accountability on the global stage.
“North american Imperialism” as a Threat
Beyond his specific criticisms of the situation in Gaza, Rodríguez also broadened his critique to encompass what he identified as a significant global threat. He reiterated the Venezuelan state’s long-standing position, asserting that “North American imperialism is a true danger to the human species.” This statement reflects Venezuela’s broader geopolitical stance and its concerns about the influence of external powers on international affairs and human rights. The New world Forum, an event aimed at fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse global voices, provided a platform for Rodríguez to articulate Venezuela’s outlook on critical international issues. His remarks at the forum are expected to resonate within diplomatic circles and among those advocating for human rights and an end to conflict in the region.
