# Glynn Turman Honored with Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame, Flo Rida Celebrates in NYC, and National Urban League Recognizes Trailblazing Black Women
the Hollywood Walk of fame recently welcomed a new luminary as veteran actor Glynn Turman was honored with a star, cementing his legacy in the entertainment industry. The esteemed actor, known for his iconic role in *Cooley High*, joined the ranks of celebrated performers on the iconic strip. The prestigious occasion saw director Ava DuVernay and actor Don Cheadle present the honor, with Turman’s star notably placed next to that of his late friend and fellow legend, Sidney Poitier.

Meanwhile, across the country, rapper Flo Rida was spotted celebrating a friend’s birthday at the newly opened Planet Hollywood in New York City. Alongside fellow trailblazers Patti LaBelle, Mara Brock Akil, and danessa Myricks, Rep. Crockett was celebrated for her impactful work. The National Urban League, a historic civil rights and urban advocacy institution dedicated to economic empowerment, equality, and social justice, annually pays tribute to outstanding Black women who lead, create, and transform the world through their endeavors.
