Godzilla vs. Marvel: King of the Monsters Takes on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes
Godzilla Rampages Through Marvel Universe in Epic Crossover Series
Get ready for a monster mashup! Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, is stomping his way into the Marvel Universe in a series of one-shot comics, pitting him against some of Earth’s mightiest heroes.
The first issue, hitting shelves in March, throws Godzilla into a cosmic conflict. He’ll face off against King Ghidorah, the three-headed dragon, who has been imbued with the Power Cosmic and transformed into galactus’s new herald.
“In this issue, Godzilla will actually team up with the Silver Surfer in order to attempt to save the Earth,” Marvel teases.
This exciting crossover is the result of a collaboration between Marvel and Toho, the Japanese studio behind Godzilla.
“We approached them initially for our reprints, but a while after those conversations, it was clear that both of our teams were excited to do more together,” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski. “These crossovers started coming together over that time, in direct collaboration with Toho, and we felt the perfect time for them was for Godzilla’s 70th anniversary next year.”
Dan Buckley, President of Marvel Comics & Franchises, adds, “For us, kaiju—and specifically Godzilla—are vital parts of Marvel’s comic history, so we knew we wanted to explore something with their teams. We’ve always been fans of Godzilla, but with the steady rise in Godzilla’s popularity over the years,it’s part of our current cultural zeitgeist and a perfect example of the fun that the comics industry can bring.”
While details on future issues are still under wraps, a teaser image has been released, showcasing Godzilla locked in battle with a who’s who of Marvel heroes, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and many more.
The epic artwork, by Leinil Francis Yu (Secret Invasion), promises a visually stunning clash of titans.

Get ready for a monstrously good time when Godzilla enters the Marvel Universe!
