Quinta de Tilcoco Celebrates Neighborhood Olympics
After 26 years, the residents of Quinta de Tilcoco gathered to celebrate the long-awaited Neighborhood Olympics. The community, through the different Sports Clubs, vibrated with a series of sports and leisure competitions held in different sectors of the commune, ending with great success this Sunday, September 8 in the Municipal Stadium.
Exciting Competitions and Events
The first day of the Neighborhood Olympics saw exciting paddle tennis and women’s table football matches at the Guacarhue fields, while a glittering brisca tournament took place at the El Nuria Restaurant. The Municipal Gym hosted the volleyball and basketball competitions on Thursday, with the domino tournament being held again at El Nuria.
On Friday, the game returned to Guacarhue with paddle tennis and women’s table football finals, and the Casa de las Artes was the venue chosen for the chess tournament. The Civic Gymnasium was the epicenter of the volleyball and basketball finals on Saturday, as well as the table tennis and bocce ball competitions, which attracted a significant number of people.
Final Day of the Neighborhood Olympics
The final day of the Neighborhood Olympics saw a range of exciting competitions, including athletics, gymkhana, tug of war, shuffleboard, high jump, and the much-awaited Marathon. The day was concluded with a musical show by Grupo León, which got the attendees dancing and enjoying themselves.
A Great Success for the Commune
The Neighborhood Olympics, organized by the Municipality of Quinta de Tilcoco, highlighted the commitment of Mayor Sebastián Rodríguez Fuenzalida to promote sports, coexistence, and community spirit. The event was a great success for the commune, bringing the community together and promoting a sense of unity and belonging.
