Golden Glory: Lin Naili and Lin Bao Bring Home Paralympic Medals in Triumphant Return

Wenzhou Athletes ‍Shine at Paris Paralympics

Wenzhou.com ​News: Wenzhou athletes Lin⁣ Naili⁤ and Lin Shuangbao ‍made history​ by winning ⁢a gold medal and a silver medal respectively in the recently concluded Paris Paralympics, achieving the best results in the history of‌ Wenzhou’s participation in the ​Paralympics.

Lin Naili and Lin Shuangbao, siblings​ from Huaixi Town, Pingyang ⁢County, participated in the ‍Paralympic Games in Paris for the first time. Lin Naili, ⁤along with his partner Li Fengmei, won the gold medal in the mixed doubles SH6 badminton event, marking the first gold ⁢medal won by Wenzhou athletes⁢ in‍ the Paralympic ⁤Games⁢ and the first gold medal won by local ‌athletes​ in Wenzhou’s Paralympic history. Lin Shuangbao secured ⁤a silver medal in the women’s singles SH6 badminton event.

The Chinese sports ‍delegation participated in 19 major events ‍and 302 minor events at the Paris Paralympic Games, winning 94 gold medals, 76 silver medals, 50‍ bronze ‍medals, and a total of 220 medals. This achievement marked the ‍sixth consecutive ⁤time China topped ⁢the Paralympic ⁤medal ⁤table with a significant ​advantage. Zhejiang⁢ athletes won‍ 14 ​gold​ medals, 3 silver medals, and⁣ 6 bronze medals, breaking 7 world records and achieving the best ⁢results in Zhejiang ‍Province’s Paralympic history. Wenzhou ranked fourth in the province with “one gold and one silver” medals.

Wenzhou​ Vice ‌Mayor Zhang⁢ Yueying met with⁣ Lin Naili and Lin Shuangbao, congratulating them on their‍ achievements. She ‍praised the athletes for their bravery, perseverance, and determination, which earned⁤ them ⁣glory for their country and pride for Wenzhou. Zhang Yueying also encouraged the siblings⁢ to take time to ‌explore Wenzhou’s scenic spots and visit the Disabled Home and Wenzhou Disabled Cultural and Creative Incubation Base‌ Bailu Market to inspire disabled friends.

A‌ total of ⁢four athletes from Wenzhou participated in the Paris Paralympic Games. In ​addition to Lin Naili and ⁤Lin Shuangbao, goalball player ⁤Hu ​Mingyao secured fourth place in the men’s goalball event, and canoeist Xie Maosan ⁤won fifth place ​in the women’s⁢ KL1 single kayak 200m.
