China’s Swimming Team Shines
The last day of the Paris Paralympics has arrived, with the closing ceremony set to take place at 2:30 a.m. Hong Kong time tonight. China’s swimming team added four more gold medals to its tally, leading the medal table. The Hong Kong team’s performance also surpassed that of the previous Games.
Jiang Yuyan Sets New World Record
In the women’s S6 100m backstroke final, Jiang Yuyan, who was in the fifth line, led most of the time. The 19-year-old swimmer won two gold medals in her first Paralympic Games last time. After swimming 1:19.44 today, she pushed the world record forward by 0.13 seconds. Jiang Yuyan finished this year’s event with seven gold medals.
Other Notable Performances
“Four-time veteran” Zhang Meng won the gold medal in the women’s SM10 200m individual medley.
