This year’s event will be livestreamed from the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on May 29, featuring over 100 categories spanning various platforms, including movie trailers, TV spots, and video game previews. Monica Brady emphasizes the enduring importance of trailers in film promotion.”Trailers are still the number one way of marketing a film to an audience,” she said. She noted that curated packages of nominees capture audience attention effectively.
The Brady sisters initially conceived the GTAs as a means to connect with trailer editors for their own film project. The inaugural awards in 1999 recognized trailers for films like ”The Matrix” and “the Blair Witch Project.” Although their film never materialized, the Bradys discovered a passion for celebrating the world of movie trailers.
From its start, the Golden Trailer Awards adapted to the evolving entertainment landscape, adding and modifying categories to reflect new platforms and media. Categories now include recognition for TV series, video games, and digital marketing efforts.

Despite changes in the industry, the Bradys celebrate the enduring creativity and talent within the trailer world. Evelyn Brady said, “It’s such a fun group of peopel to serve. They’re always creating new ways to reach an audience.”
Monica Brady added, “They’re at the golden Trailer Awards because they’ve done their job. They’re suppose to get people to go watch a movie. Their trailer did that—and they shoudl be rewarded for it.”
