France Football magazine has revealed the names of the 30 players nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award, recognizing the best player in the world.

Lionel Messi, the Argentine star who plays for Inter Miami, won the Ballon d’Or last year after helping his country win the World Cup. Messi has won the award a record eight times.

The nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award include several notable players, such as six from Real Madrid: Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos, and Antonio Rudiger. Kylian Mbappe, a former Paris Saint-Germain player who now plays for Real Madrid, is also on the list.

Barcelona’s promising young player, Lamine Yamal, has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or and is also a contender for the award for best young player. However, the omission of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah from the list has come as a surprise.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony will take place on October 28, 2024, at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris. This year’s award is notable for its collaboration between France Football magazine and the European Football Association, which has combined Europe’s best award with the Ballon d’Or award starting in 2024.
