Jeong Na-eun Wins Two Medals at the 2024 Korea Open Badminton Championships
Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, has announced that Jeong Na-eun, a member of the county office badminton team, has achieved a remarkable feat by winning two medals at the ‘2024 Korea Open Badminton Championships (Super500)’. The championships were held at Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium from the 27th of last month to the 1st of this month.
Jeong Na-eun, partnering with Kim Hye-jeong (Samsung Life Insurance), secured the gold medal in the women’s doubles by defeating Malaysia’s Pearly Than and Tina Muralitharan 2:0 in the final held at Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium on the 1st.
In the mixed doubles, Jeong Na-eun teamed up with Kim Won-ho (Samsung Life Insurance), with whom she won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics. Although they lost 1-2 to China’s Guo Xinwa-Li Qian in a close semifinal match, they finished in third place.
The Hwasun County Governor expressed gratitude to Jeong Na-eun for her outstanding performance, stating, “We appreciate Jeong Na-eun for elevating the status of our county with her excellent performance.” The Governor also pledged continued support for the company sports team to achieve good results in the future.
