Golf with Us: Affordable Kids Golf at Columbus Park

Columbus Park in Austin is once again offering $5 rounds of youth golf through the Golf with Us program, aiming to make the sport more affordable and accessible for children during the summer months.

The initiative, supported by Bank of America, provides low-cost access to golf for kids aged 6 to 17, with equipment and instruction included in the fee. Sessions are held weekly throughout the summer, allowing participants to learn the basics of the game in a structured, welcoming environment.

Officials with the program say the goal is to remove financial and logistical barriers that often prevent young people from trying golf, particularly in underserved communities. By keeping costs low and providing all necessary gear, Golf with Us seeks to introduce the sport to a broader and more diverse group of youth.

Bank of America has been a consistent sponsor of the program, contributing funding and volunteer support to help sustain operations. The bank’s involvement aligns with its broader community investment efforts focused on youth development and access to recreational opportunities.

Columbus Park, located on the city’s east side, has hosted the program for several years and continues to serve as a key location for summer activities. The park’s golf facilities are maintained to support both beginner instruction and recreational play.

Parents interested in enrolling their children can register through the city’s parks and recreation department, with spaces filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers recommend early registration due to high demand each season.

The Golf with Us program runs annually from June through August, coinciding with the summer break for most schools. This year’s session began in early June and will continue through the end of August, weather permitting.
