Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian Highlights Apple Partnership at Google Cloud Next 2026 in Las Vegas

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian confirmed during the Google Cloud Next 2026 keynote in Las Vegas that Gemini will power the next generation of Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, as part of a strategic collaboration between the two companies.

The announcement, made on April 22, 2026, confirms that Google’s Gemini family of AI models will be integrated into Siri’s underlying architecture to enhance its contextual understanding and task execution capabilities across Apple devices.

Kurian described the collaboration as a “monumental partnership with one of the most iconic brands” and stated that Google Cloud is Apple’s “preferred cloud provider” for developing the next generation of Apple Foundation Models based on Gemini technology.

These models will power future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized version of Siri that is expected to be released later in 2026, aligning with Apple’s previously stated timeline for updating its voice assistant.
