Google Health is rolling out version 5.07 of its fitness tracking application for Android and iOS users, introducing expanded manual workout logging features and map performance enhancements. According to a community post published by Google on August 28, 2026, the updated software gives users more flexibility when recording exercise metrics by hand and improves post-workout data summaries.

Expanded Manual Workout Controls

The version 5.07 patch allows users to add and adjust a wider range of metrics when logging exercises manually, according to the official release notes. Google stated that any manual edits made to a workout will now appear more quickly in post-workout summaries. The update also brings similar metric-expansion improvements to users transitioning from pool swimming to open swim exercises. For outdoor activities, the software update addresses several mapping issues within the Health app. According to the patch notes, users should experience faster loading times and smoother rendering for map graphics. The update also resolves a bug that prevented some users from viewing a map display after completing a run or a long walk. Additionally, Google Health has integrated trail runs and incline data directly into total “Running Distance” metrics.

Weight Tracking and System Connectivity Fixes

Fitness users tracking body weight will find visual improvements in the app’s trend graphs. Google highlighted updates designed to bring more clarity to weight tracking, making it easier for users to notice changes over time in their graphs. On the system side, the update fixes a connection problem that affected data synchronization between Health Connect and certain Android devices. This technical fix arrives alongside the activity tracking changes as the application rollout reaches Android and iOS users.

Context from Recent Nutrition Logging Updates

The latest activity improvements follow a major feature drop in version 5.04, which focused heavily on nutrition tracking. That previous update introduced custom foods, allowing users to create, edit, and delete personal meal entries with greater freedom. Version 5.04 also introduced a Quick Logging feature as an alternative to traditional meal entry, enabling users to log meals by inputting calorie and macronutrient counts directly without searching a food database. Google also added nap tracking to the Today tab alongside cycle health updates in previous weeks to expand long-term trend monitoring.
