Google Updates Home App with Expanded Automations & One-Time Options

Google is rolling out a “significant” upgrade to its Home app automations experience, as announced by the Nest community (via 9to5Google). Users will be guided through the update when creating a “New Automation.”

* Expanded Conditions: Automations can now be triggered based on more criteria, including:
* Presence: Weather someone is home or everyone is away.
* Time of Day: Automations can react to specific times.
* Notifications: Send notifications to specific people or the entire household.
* Days & Times: Set automations to run on specified days and times.
* One-time Automations: Users can now create automations that run only once, like “this Friday,” with an auto-delete option after completion.

These updates allow for more precise and flexible home automation, letting users create automations that only start when specific conditions are met.
