Google App Tests pinterest-Style Images Tab for Visual Finding
Google is experimenting with a new “Images” tab within its app, offering users a Pinterest-like experience. The feature, currently available to beta users, allows for the creation of personalized visual feeds.
The new Google Images tab lets users select at least three topics of interest, such as fashion, home decor, or travel. This selection then populates a tailored visual feed with publicly available images sourced from Google Search.
Users can interact with the images by long-pressing to share, save to a collection, or initiate a Google Lens search. The option to hide images from the feed is also available.
Google app version 16.23.71 beta includes the new Images tab, which is rolling out widely to beta testers.
What’s next
The feature is in beta, and Google will likely refine it based on user feedback before a potential public release. The company is optimistic about launching the feature to the stable branch soon.
