Google Maps is sporting a new look on Wear OS smartwatches.The app is testing a redesigned interface for some users on Wear OS 5, introducing a bolder layout aligned with Google’s Material 3 Expressive design principles. Frequently accessed actions such as “home,” “Work,” and “Recents” are now presented as colorful modules. Navigation modes appear as compact pills with clearer icons, enhancing usability.
The redesign marks a departure from the previous minimalist aesthetic, which relied on smaller icons and darker menus.
