Google has announced the next iteration in its popular A-series lineup: the Pixel 10a. Continuing a tradition, the Pixel 10a offers a more accessible price point compared to the flagship Pixel 10. Initial impressions suggest a design remarkably similar to last year’s Pixel 9a, a similarity that extends to the core hardware specifications. However, Google has managed to reduce the price, integrate new artificial intelligence features, improve display brightness and durability, add faster charging, and introduce satellite connectivity as a safety feature.
The Pixel 10a’s design features a refined, smooth aesthetic with a completely flat back. The camera bar seamlessly integrates with the phone’s rear, facilitating easy pocketability and stability when placed on a surface. Google emphasizes sustainability, stating that the Pixel 10a incorporates the highest percentage of recycled materials of any A-series Pixel to date, including recycled cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten. The frame is constructed from 100% recycled aluminum, while the back cover utilizes 81% recycled plastic. The phone will be available in Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian color options.

Google claims the Pixel 10a is its most durable A-series phone yet, boasting IP68 water and dust protection. The display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, offering improved scratch and drop resistance. The 6.3-inch Actua display has an LTPS panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2424 x 1080 pixels, and supports refresh rates of 60Hz and 120Hz. Peak brightness reaches 2000 nits in HDR mode, or 3000 nits point brightness, an 11% increase over the Pixel 9a. Google has also reduced the bezel thickness and standardized it around the entire display.
Battery life is estimated to exceed 30 hours on a single charge. While the phone retains the 5100 mAh battery capacity of the Pixel 9a, Google has improved charging speeds and optimized power management. Wired charging is capped at 30W (reaching 50% charge in 30 minutes), and Qi wireless charging has been increased from 7.5W to 10W. The phone will also come with seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drops updates.
Tensor G4 and Long-Term Software Support
The Pixel 10a is powered by the Tensor G4 processor, the same chip found in last year’s Pixel 9a. While some may have anticipated an upgrade, Google appears to have prioritized cost-effectiveness. The phone will be available with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A Titan M2 security coprocessor is also included, along with compatibility with Apple’s AirDrop sharing feature and emergency satellite connectivity.
The camera system remains unchanged from the Pixel 9a, featuring a 48MP main sensor (f/1.7) with PDAF and optical image stabilization, and a 13MP ultrawide lens (f/2.2) with a 120° field of view and electronic stabilization. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 13MP and an aperture of f/2.2. Digital zoom is limited to 8x.
New photographic features include “Best Take,” which combines multiple photos into a single, optimal image, and “Photo Coach,” which leverages Gemini models to provide real-time guidance on framing and lighting.
Google will ship the Pixel 10a with Android 16 and the Material 3 Expressive interface. The company is committing to seven years of software support, including new Android versions, features, and security patches. Google clarified that the decision to offer seven years of support does not depend on the specific hardware, despite the Pixel 9a and 10a sharing similar components.
The system also incorporates a range of AI-powered assistant features. Features like AI call noise isolation and call recording are expected to become globally available by the end of February, potentially extending to older Pixel devices and other phones using Google’s Phone app. Gemini Live, integration with applications, image generation via Gemini Nano, and Circle to Search will also be fully available in the Czech Republic.
Sales begin today at select partners and on the Czech version of the Google Store. Customers will receive a three-month subscription to YouTube Premium and a three-month trial of Google One with their purchase.
