Sabia Governorate Celebrates Volunteers and Community Partnerships
Jazan, Saudi Arabia – Teh Sabia Governorate recently hosted a special awards ceremony to recognize outstanding volunteers and celebrate the power of community partnerships. The event,held in conjunction with International Volunteer Day,was sponsored by Governor Dr. Sultan bin Azmi bin Munikheer and organized by the municipality under the theme “Lasting Community Partnerships in Sabia Governorate.”
The ceremony brought together a diverse group of attendees, including representatives from government departments, businesses, investors, and prominent volunteers from various sectors.
The event showcased the impactful work being done in Sabia through a vibrant exhibition highlighting key voluntary initiatives undertaken by the municipality in collaboration with diverse entities. Attendees were also treated to presentations on Sabia’s successful community projects, which were made possible through strong community partnerships.
Engr.Muhammad bin Mohsen Kharmi, Mayor of Sabia Governorate, emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “Presenting experiences and providing volunteer programs and effective community contributions, provides opportunities for familiarization between voluntary organizations, sectors and individuals.” he highlighted the significant achievements of the Community Participation Program in 2024, underscoring the program’s commitment to fostering strong community partnerships.
Mayor Kharmi expressed his gratitude for Governor bin Munikheer’s unwavering support, recognizing his dedication to serving the Sabia Governorate.
A highlight of the ceremony was the launch of the “Friends of Sabya” volunteer group, an initiative aimed at promoting volunteerism in urban development. The group will focus on enhancing the skills and expertise of volunteers within the municipal sector, encouraging social responsibility towards public services, and strengthening connections among the youth of Sabia.
