Govt appoints Lt Gen N S Raja Subramani as Chief of Defence Staff

The Government of India has appointed Lieutenant General N S Raja Subramani as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the highest-ranking military officer in the Indian Armed Forces. The announcement comes as the administration prepares for the transition of leadership within the Department of Military Affairs.

Lieutenant General Raja Subramani will succeed the incumbent, General Anil Chauhan, whose tenure in the position is scheduled to conclude on May 30, 2026.
