Nike has officially ended its partnership with Grace Tame, teh Australian advocate and athlete, following her social media posts expressing solidarity with Palestine.The global sports brand confirmed the split after speculation arose when Tame removed Nike references from her Instagram profile.
Tame, recognized as a prominent voice for survivors of sexual assault and former Australian of the Year, had been vocal in her support for Palestinians amid the ongoing conflict with Israel. Nike’s initial statement indicated they were addressing the matter with Tame’s team.
A Nike spokesperson stated, “Grace and Nike have mutually agreed to part ways. We wish grace the best as she continues her running journey.” The company had previously emphasized that it “does not stand for any form of discrimination, including antisemitism.”
