Samaritan’s Purse provides Ambulances, Including Armored Units, to Israel
In the wake of the October 2023 Hamas attacks, Samaritan’s Purse is providing aid to Israel, donating ambulances to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service. The Christian relief association’s donation includes 20 ambulances, with plans to provide a total of 42, including 28 armored units.
Franklin Graham,head of Samaritan’s Purse,dedicated the most recent ambulance during a ceremony outside the Tower of David in Jerusalem. Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, MDA leaders, and survivors of terror attacks in Israel attended the event.
The donated ambulance functions as a mobile intensive care unit and is designed to operate safely even under fire, enhancing emergency medical services capabilities in the region.

Karina Engel, whose husband died in the October 2023 attacks, shared that an ambulance donated by Samaritan’s Purse in memory of her husband is now stationed near her home. During the dedication, she placed a yellow ribbon on Graham’s jacket to honour those still held hostage.
Huckabee emphasized the seriousness of the ongoing threat, noting that the need for armored ambulances underscores the reality of the situation.He expressed gratitude for Samaritan’s Purse and others who risk their lives to help.
“This is an occasion brought about as of suffering,” Huckabee said. “Thank God for Samaritan’s Purse, Harvest Christian Fellowship, and the people who risk their lives to help others.”
MDA Director General Eli Bin stated the ambulance “will become part of our modern defense,” calling it a symbol of “kindness and protection.” Gilad Erdan, global president of MDA, added that Samaritan’s purse “came to Israel’s aid in its time of greatest need.”
Edward Graham, a military veteran and Franklin Graham’s son, highlighted the importance of rapid medical assistance in conflict zones. He stated the donation reflects their belief that “God loves Israel” and expressed hope that the equipment will save lives.
“We do this because God loves Israel,” Edward Graham said. “We pray this equipment will save lives and bring glory to God.”
The ambulance displays a Bible verse from Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
