The Recording Academy is updating its Grammy Awards categories. Changes include revised rules for ⁢Best New Artist and a breakdown of the country genre.⁤ The 68th Grammy⁣ Awards are scheduled‍ for Feb. 1,2026.

A new, stand-alone category will recognize‍ Best Album Cover.the Recording Academy announced the changes Thursday.

One significant change involves country music. The ‍former Best Country Album category will be split into⁢ Best Traditional Country⁤ Album and Best Contemporary Country Album. Beyoncé won the single Best Country Album⁣ award⁢ this year.

The Best New Artist category will expand to include acts featured on previous Album of the ⁢Year nominees, provided their contributions‍ are less then 20% ⁣of the album’s music.

Additionally, the Best Recording Package and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package categories will merge into a⁢ single Best Recording Package category. ⁢This allows ‍for the creation of the stand-alone Best Album Cover category, rewarding⁢ excellence⁣ in album artwork.

Trevor Noah hosted the 2025 Grammys for the fifth consecutive year. Beyoncé received 11 nominations, becoming the most nominated artist in Grammy history. She also won⁢ Album of the⁤ Year for ⁣’Cowboy⁤ carter’.
