Grand Reopening of Frontier Park Family Tennis Center

Cheyenne, Wyo. — The Frontier Park Family Tennis Center will have its grand reopening on Nov. 16. This event showcases the newly renovated indoor tennis facility. The day will include free lessons, clinics, and a family social event.

Event Schedule:

  • 11 a.m.: Free tennis clinic for children 12 and under.
  • 1 p.m.: Ribbon-cutting ceremony to recognize community contributions.
  • 2 p.m.: Tennis clinic for veterans and active-duty military.
  • 3 p.m.: Red Ball beginner session for adults.
  • 5 p.m.: Family social with food and drinks.

Josh Cossitt, the director of tennis, expresses excitement about the project, highlighting a 44-year commitment to the tennis community. The renovations, costing $110,000, were funded by the Cheyenne Tennis Association and Cheyenne Frontier Days, along with contributions from Wyo Give Day. Upgrades include permanent court lines, lighting, and restroom facilities.

Upcoming Tournaments:

  • Pete Cook Thanksgiving Tennis Classic: Nov. 22–24 for all skill levels. Registration ends Nov. 18.
  • Annual Level 5 Christmas Classic: Dec. 20–22 for youth. Registration closes Dec. 15.

Regular Schedule and Membership Options:
The Frontier Park Tennis Center is Cheyenne’s only indoor tennis facility. Weekly sessions include:

  • Red Ball (ages 4–7): Tuesdays and Fridays from 4 to 4:45 p.m., Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Orange Ball (ages 7–10): Tuesdays and Fridays from 5 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Green Ball (ages 10–12): Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Adult Beginner Lessons: Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m.

Drop-in play for seniors is available Mondays and Fridays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Fees are $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Non-member daily unlimited play fees are $25. Seasonal court reservations are available with prices based on membership status.

Facility Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
  • Friday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The center also serves as a winter training hub for local high school teams. The updated courts feature a joint-friendly surface, making play comfortable and enjoyable.
