Grant Horvat Shoots Lights Out, Takes Commanding Lead at korn Ferry Tour Championship

Grant Horvat is making a strong case for a PGA Tour card. Teh 27-year-old fired a blistering 9-under 62 in the opening round of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, taking a commanding four-stroke lead at Victoria National Golf Club.
Horvat’s round was a masterclass in ball-striking and putting. He carded nine birdies, including four in a row on the back nine, and didn’t record a single bogey.
“I felt really comfortable out there today,” Horvat said. “I was hitting the ball well and making some putts. It was just one of those days where everything clicked.”
Horvat’s performance puts him in prime position to secure a spot on the PGA Tour for next season. The top 25 players on the korn Ferry Tour points list at the end of the championship will earn their PGA Tour cards. Horvat currently sits in 32nd place.
“Obviously, the goal this week is to win,” Horvat said. “But I’m also trying to focus on playing my best golf and letting the results take care of themselves. If I can keep playing like this, I’ll be in good shape.”
