Guilin, August 30 (China News Service) (Ou Huilan and Zhang Yifeng) On August 29, the 2024 Guangxi-Taiwan Youth Football Friendly Match and Visit and Exchange Activities with the theme of “Green Field Chasing Dreams and Shining Together across the Strait” was launched in Guilin, Guangxi. A 20-member Taiwan Youth Football Delegation was invited to participate in the event.
On the afternoon of the 29th, the Taiwan Youth Football Team and the football team of Guilin Yixian Middle School, a football specialty school, first held a Guilin-Taiwan Youth Five-a-Side Football Friendly Match to learn from each other’s strengths and enhance friendship.
“I have played football for 11 years. This is my first time to come to the mainland to participate in a friendly football match. Reading thousands of books is not as good as traveling thousands of miles. I hope I will have the opportunity to visit more places in the mainland and experience different customs and cultures in the future.” Taiwanese football player Wang told reporters after the game that he likes football and will keep playing football. He wants to be a football coach in the future and is currently studying marine sports in college.
“During the summer and winter vacations, as long as they are free, the players will go to the club for training every day. I hope my football skills will get better and better.” Mr. Shi, the first-half goalkeeper of the Taiwan team, said that this is his second time to come to the mainland to participate in a friendly football match. In July this year, he went to Nanning, Guangxi and held a friendly football match with local teenagers. He felt that the players on the other side had very good skills and hoped to have the opportunity to practice football skills with different teams in the future.
Li Fangzhen, the goalkeeper of the Guilin Yixian Middle School team, said that he started professional football training in the second grade of junior high school. In the past two years, he has participated in the Guangxi “Qianli Cup” campus football league. In April this year, he also participated in the Guizhou “Village Super League” with the club to make friends through football. He said that he would like to visit Taiwan if he has the chance and play a football match with Taiwanese football friends.
It is reported that before September 3, the Taiwan Youth Football Delegation will also hold two football training matches on the green field with the team of Guilin Tianlong Football Club.
During the event, Taiwanese youth will also conduct historical and cultural learning exchanges in Guilin, visit Guilin’s city emblem, Elephant Trunk Hill and other Guilin scenic spots and natural scenery, visit the national cross-strait exchange base, Osmanthus Commune, learn about Guilin’s high-end manufacturing base, and experience Guilin’s urban construction and development achievements.
