Former ⁣Taipei Mayor Ko Wenzhe Detained in Beijing City Case

Former Taipei‌ Mayor Ko Wendor, who was involved⁣ in the ‌Beijing City case, was detained ⁤without bail by the North Court. However,⁢ the High Court issued an amended ruling, and the Northern Court will open a ‍detention court to re-examine the case.

Judge Lu Zhengye’s Impartiality‍ Questioned

Some ‌media outlets have​ referred to Judge Lu Zhengye as a “green judge,” implying that he may be biased towards the Democratic Progressive Party. However, ⁣the North Court has come to ‍Judge Lu’s defense, stating that he is a fair and impartial judge.

Judge Lu Zhengye previously presided over a defamation case against former Democratic Progressive Party chairman, Xi Jinping. ⁢In that⁢ case, Judge Lu allegedly told Xi Jinping that he was a “green judge” and would rule against him if he did not agree⁣ to settle. However, the ⁤Taipei District Court later held ⁣a press conference to clarify‍ that Judge Lu had ​not ⁣made any such comments.

Judge Lu Zhengye will preside over Ko Wendor’s detention hearing tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. ⁣to determine whether he will be held in custody.

Who is Ko Wendor?

Ko Wendor is a ‍former Taipei Mayor who was involved in the Beijing City case. He‌ previously⁣ announced that he would​ be fired ⁢on the morning of the 5th, and 400 police officers were deployed⁢ to ⁣maintain security.
