The legal proceedings follow a pursuit that took place on February 15, 2026. According to a Florida Highway Patrol probable cause affidavit, the incident began near Lake Worth Beach when a trooper observed Gaviria Munoz lane-splitting through traffic.
The trooper identified the vehicle as a yellow Suzuki motorcycle. The affidavit noted that the motorcycle’s license plate was tilted upward.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported that Gaviria Munoz accelerated away after they activated emergency lights and sirens. The pursuit continued southbound on Interstate 95, where troopers stated the rider weaved through traffic at speeds that topped 150 mph.
Crash and Arrest
Investigators stated that the high-speed chase ended near the Glades Road exit in Boca Raton. During the conclusion of the pursuit, Gaviria Munoz lost control of the motorcycle and struck a curb, which caused him to be thrown from the vehicle.
Following the crash, Gaviria Munoz was transported to JFK Hospital for medical treatment. After receiving care, he was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
