Greenhouse Nightmare: 28 Workers Rushed to Hospital in Shocking Cleaning Incident
Geothermal Greenhouse Field Incident Leaves 28 Workers Hospitalized
A recent incident occurred at the geothermal technological greenhouse field in Şehitlioğlu District, within Kula Municipality. The field, built with the support of Zafer Development Agency, was allegedly cleaned with water mixed with chlorine and bleach around 11:30. This led to 7 female workers experiencing vomiting and nausea.
The affected workers, identified as Nuriye G. (33), Sultan G. (48), Fadime E. (35), Şadiye K. (39), Fadime E. (42), Aysun M. (43), and Arzu G. (38), were immediately taken to Kula State Hospital in ambulances after notification was made to the 112 Emergency Call Centre.
In addition to the 7 hospitalized workers, 21 others who experienced mild vomiting and nausea also sought medical attention at the same hospital. A total of 28 workers received treatment for suspected poisoning, with reports indicating that their injuries were not life-threatening.
The Gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the alleged poisoning.
