PORTLAND, Ore. - Jesus Ascenio-Molina,31,of Gresham,received a prison sentence of more than six years Friday for stabbing an 86-year-old man during a robbery attempt in December. Ascenio-Molina pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office reported that on Dec. 27, 2024, Ascenio-Molina approached the victim at a Fred Meyer on 82nd Avenue as he was loading groceries into his 2011 Porsche Panamera. According to officials, Ascenio-Molina, admiring the car, asked the man twice for his keys.When the man refused, Ascenio-Molina stabbed him twice in the back and once in the ribcage.
Ascenio-Molina fled to a nearby apartment complex but was apprehended two hours later. The victim, whose name was not released, expressed satisfaction at the sentencing, stating, “I’m happy seeing this guy off the street.”
In court, Ascenio-Molina apologized for the role he played in the robbery, claiming he “wasn’t thinking straight.” The assault resulted in serious injuries to the victim.
