Greta Thunberg ‘mistreated and mocked’ by dancing Israeli officials before deportation
Activist Claims Mistreatment of Greta Thunberg After Gaza Aid Intercept
Updated June 11, 2025
A French doctor who was part of the “freedom flotilla” attempting to deliver aid to Gaza with Greta Thunberg has accused Israeli officials of mistreating the Swedish climate activist. Baptiste Andre spoke to French media after he and 11 other activists were taken to the port of Ashdod following the interception of their vessel.
Andre said that while there were no instances of physical violence, the activists were subjected to sleep deprivation and “mockery,” especially directed at Thunberg. He claimed that immigration services repeatedly woke Thunberg whenever she fell asleep, played loud music, and danced in front of the group.

What’s next
Despite the setback, Thunberg and other activists have stated their determination to continue efforts to deliver aid to Gaza.
