Grey Bull Rescue: CONDOR REACH Aiding Americans in Mexico
Veteran-Led Rescue Group Deploys to Mexico Amid Escalating Cartel Violence
TAMPA, FL – – Grey Bull Rescue, a veteran-led nonprofit organization specializing in high-risk humanitarian operations, has launched “Operation: CONDOR REACH” to evacuate American citizens trapped in Mexico following a surge in violence linked to the Jalisco New Generation cartel. The operation began , according to the organization.
The escalation in violence follows the reported targeting of senior cartel leader Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.” The resulting unrest has left hundreds of Americans stranded, with civilian transit routes becoming increasingly dangerous and unpredictable, particularly during peak vacation and spring break travel periods.
Grey Bull Rescue founder Bryan Stern, a multiple-tour combat veteran, described the situation as “war-zone level” and “nuanced.” “When the cartels embrace asymmetric warfare tactics blended with unhinged brutality – coordinated disruption, territorial control and murder – Americans can quickly find themselves in extreme danger,” Stern said in a statement. “Operation: CONDOR REACH is about speed, structure, and decisive action to evacuate Americans out of harm’s way away from the cartel war zone.”
The U.S. State Department has issued shelter-in-place orders, and airlines have canceled flights due to the ongoing instability. Reports indicate that even luxury resort areas, such as Punta Mita near Puerto Vallarta, are affected, with tourists finding themselves unable to leave. Wendee Puccetti of Wisconsin told Fox News Digital that she and her husband were informed “no one’s leaving” their resort, as the airport was shut down and transportation was unavailable.
Stern emphasized the sophisticated nature of the cartels, stating, “These are not punk kids with face tattoos. The cartels are extremely organized, very well-resourced and very prepared.” He added that the cartels have “eyes and ears on the street.”
Grey Bull Rescue is operating on the ground in Mexico, utilizing air, land, and sea routes to evacuate Americans and allied nationals. The organization operates in what it calls “the Grey Space” – a zone where traditional systems are overwhelmed and response times are slow – deploying teams of U.S. Special Operations and Intelligence Community veterans to execute rapid evacuations.
Stern acknowledged the complex political dynamics at play, noting that “in war, the answer to peace generally is a political solution.” He suggested that a complete military defeat of the cartels is unlikely, given their long-standing presence and economic power. “The cartels are a business as much as they are an army, and the violence is entirely in their control,” he said.
The launch of Operation: CONDOR REACH comes as crisis response groups and the U.S. Government grapple with the challenge of protecting American citizens caught in the crossfire of cartel violence in Mexico. Grey Bull Rescue is actively working to provide a lifeline for those stranded and seeking to escape the escalating conflict.
