Actor Eric Dane, recognized for his prominent role in television series such as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Euphoria,” is now facing a personal health challenge. Dane recently shared that he has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
ALS, as defined by the Mayo Clinic, is a progressive nervous system disease affecting nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to loss of muscle control that worsens over time. The diagnosis marks a notable turning point for the actor.
Dane, 52, expressed gratitude for the support of his loved ones. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,” he said.
Born Nov. 9, 1972, in San Francisco, CA, dane is the father of two daughters, Billie and Georgia. He has been married to actress and model Rebecca Gayheart since 2004.Despite past challenges, including a dismissed divorce filing, they remain committed to their family.
Gayheart told Us weekly that she views their relationship as a success. “I think it’s crucial to not look at a relationship that ends as a failure. It’s just a season. It wasn’t a failure. It was a huge success,” she said, highlighting their 15 years together and their two children.
