Grizzlies Obliterate Warriors in Historic Rout, Curry Suffers Career First

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Grizzlies delivered a stunning 144-93 beatdown to the Golden State ‌Warriors on Thursday, handing Steve ‌Kerr’s squad the largest defeat in the NBA this‌ season. The lopsided⁤ victory marks the second time this season the ⁢Grizzlies have delivered a historic blowout, surpassing their previous record 45-point win over the ⁣Portland Trail Blazers in November.

The Warriors’ star-studded lineup was⁢ wholly ⁣dismantled. Stephen Curry, a two-time MVP, endured a ⁢nightmarish performance,⁤ going 0-for-7 from the field, including six missed threes. This marked the first⁤ time in his illustrious career that Curry failed to score a single field goal while⁢ playing at ⁤least 12 minutes.Draymond Green, known⁣ for his all-around contributions, finished with a stat line of⁢ zero points, rebounds, or assists for only the 11th⁤ time in 837 career games. This ⁤was the first time he ⁢achieved‌ this dubious⁣ feat while playing more than eight minutes.

Adding insult to injury, both Curry and Green finished with minus-42 and minus-41 plus-minus ratings, respectively, highlighting their struggles on ‍the court. They are two of only four⁤ players in the league to finish with a plus-minus ‌lower than minus-40‌ in‌ a⁣ game⁣ this season.

“We have to accept that if we don’t have an answer for how a team’s guarding ‌us, ⁢we’ve got to figure something (else) out on the fly,” Curry admitted after the game. “We didn’t do it, and they⁤ (beat us by) 50. … That ‍was kind of embarrassing.”

in ‍stark contrast, ‍the Grizzlies showcased a balanced and dominant offensive attack. Six players scored‌ in double digits, led by reserve⁢ forward Santi Aldama, who poured in 21 points and grabbed⁣ 14 rebounds. Aldama also dished out four assists, recorded two ⁢steals, and blocked a shot, showcasing his all-around impact. ‌Aldama and Luke Kennard led the team with five three-pointers each, contributing⁤ to ‍the Grizzlies’ franchise-record 27 made threes.

“when‍ you see blood, you gotta go get it,” Aldama declared, acknowledging the Grizzlies’ recent competitive battles‍ with the Warriors. “We want to beat them every ⁣single time. ‍Obviously, that’s⁣ not going to happen, but that’s in the back of⁢ our minds, being honest.⁢ They got ⁣one⁢ win, we got one win – it doesn’t‍ matter by how much you beat them, but you⁤ want to make sure they know‍ you’re coming.”

The Warriors’⁣ loss is tied for their fourth-largest margin of defeat in franchise history and their worst since a 52-point blowout at the hands ‌of the Boston Celtics in March.

Despite the demoralizing defeat,Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remained ‍optimistic. “I know who⁤ we are, I know what our team is⁢ about,” Kerr said. ⁢”I know ⁣we’ve got competitors, I know we’re going to bounce back. So I’m not concerned ⁣about that. But we’ve got a lot of⁣ work to do‌ to ⁢execute, learn how to execute under pressure, take⁢ care of the ⁢ball, get good shots. We’ll regroup tomorrow in ‍minneapolis, ‍have practice, and get ready to go Saturday (against the Minnesota timberwolves).”

Memphis, TN – ‍The Memphis Grizzlies sent an undeniable message to the Golden‌ State Warriors on Thursday night, dismantling their star-studded lineup in a 144-93 thrashing. Stephen Curry and⁤ draymond Green, ⁣cornerstones of Golden state’s dynasty, experienced a brutal night. “We have to accept that if we ‌don’t have an answer for how a team’s guarding us, we’ve got to figure something (else) out ‍on the fly,” Curry admitted ⁤after the game. “We didn’t do it, and they (beat⁤ us by) 50. … That was kind of embarrassing.”

The Grizzlies, conversely, operated as a well-oiled machine. Six players scored in ⁢double digits, led by reserve forward Santi Aldama, who showcased his versatility with 21 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. Aldama and Luke Kennard led the grizzlies’ franchise-record 27‍ three-pointers with‌ five apiece.

“when you see blood,⁢ you gotta go get it,” Aldama said, acknowledging the Grizzlies’ recent ⁤clashes with the Warriors. “We ‌want to beat them‍ every single ⁢time. Obviously, that’s not going to happen, but that’s in the back of our minds, being honest. They got one win, we got one win – it doesn’t matter by how much you beat ‍them, but you want to make sure they know you’re coming.”

The Warriors’ loss is tied for their fourth-largest margin of defeat in franchise history, their worst since a 52-point blowout at the hands of the boston ‍Celtics‍ in March.

Despite the demoralizing defeat, Warriors head ⁤coach⁣ steve Kerr maintained his optimism. “I know who we are, I know what our team is about,” Kerr said. “I know we’ve got ‌competitors, I know we’re going to ⁤bounce back. ‍So I’m not concerned about that. But we’ve got⁤ a lot of work to do to execute, learn how to execute under pressure, take care of the ball, get ⁤good shots. We’ll regroup tomorrow in Minneapolis, have practise, and get ‍ready to go Saturday (against the⁤ Minnesota Timberwolves).”.
