Grove Racing unveiled a striking new black and gold livery on Friday night, celebrating 100 years of partnership with title sponsor Penrite Oil. The color scheme, reminiscent of classic motorsport designs, will adorn the team’s Supercars Championship Mustangs as they aim for a maiden title in the 2026 season.

The reveal took place at a sponsor function, with a public viewing to follow. Team owner Stephen Grove emphasized the significance of the livery, stating, “Celebrating 100 years of Penrite Oil is a special moment for our team. An Australian business and still family owned and operated, it honours their remarkable history.”

Grove Racing is entering the 2026 season with high ambitions, fielding drivers Matt Payne and Kai Allen. The duo will be joined by experienced campaigners Will Davison and Tim Slade for the Enduro Cup races. The team’s 2025 campaign saw considerable success, finishing second in the teams’ championship and securing a historic victory at the Bathurst 1000 with Payne and Garth Tander. Allen also reached the Grand Final in his rookie season, demonstrating the team’s growing competitiveness.

The new livery isn’t merely cosmetic; it’s a visual representation of the strong partnership between Grove Racing and Penrite Oil. “This livery represents more than just a new look,” Grove explained. “It reflects the strength of our partnerships, which are central to everything we do. It reflects the standards we hold ourselves to and our commitment to present and perform at the highest level.”

The cars will continue to carry the numbers #19 and #26, a nod to the year Penrite Oil was established – 1926. This detail underscores the long-standing history and commitment of the Australian-owned company.

Penrite Oil CEO Toby Dymond echoed Grove’s sentiments, highlighting the importance of the milestone. “Reaching our 100th year is a moment we’re incredibly proud of, and the gold livery is a meaningful way to mark that milestone,” Dymond said. “Penrite began in 1926 as an Australian made, family-owned business, and seeing ‘19’ and ‘26’ running together on both cars is a reminder of the journey that has brought us here and the legacy we carry forward.”

The black and gold color scheme evokes memories of iconic liveries from the 1970s and 80s, specifically the JPS colors. In 2019, Penrite-backed Erebus Motorsport paid tribute to this classic design at Sandown, demonstrating a continued appreciation for motorsport heritage.

Beyond the livery reveal, Grove Racing is also preparing for the Bathurst 12 Hour next weekend. The team will field a Mercedes-AMG GT3, with a driver lineup consisting of Kai Allen, Will Davison, and Brenton Grove. This participation showcases the team’s versatility and commitment to competing across multiple disciplines of motorsport.

The unveiling of the anniversary livery marks the beginning of a year-long celebration for Penrite Oil. The company plans a series of activations and events throughout 2026 to commemorate its centennial, emphasizing its Australian roots and family-owned status. Dymond stated, “Throughout the year, we’ll be celebrating our golden era with a range of moments and activations that honour our history while looking firmly to the future. Motorsport has always been an important part of our story, and we’re excited for what lies ahead this season.”

The partnership between Grove Racing and Penrite Oil, which began in 2021, has proven to be a successful one. Penrite recently announced a multi-year extension of its naming rights partnership with Grove Racing, solidifying its commitment to the team’s future. This continued support will be crucial as Grove Racing strives to achieve its goal of winning the Supercars Championship.
