Grupo Firme Cancels La ⁤Onda Fest Appearance Due to Visa Problems

Grupo⁤ Firme, the popular Mexican band, will not perform at this weekend’s La onda Fest in Napa, California. The band announced Friday that ongoing visa issues are to blame for the cancellation.

In a statement shared on‍ Instagram Stories,⁣ Grupo ⁢Firme ⁤explained that their ⁣visas, along with those of Música VIP,‌ are undergoing administrative processing at the U.S. embassy. This situation makes it unfeasible for them to appear at La Onda Fest ⁤as planned. The band added, “We will share news soon on our ‍return to the U.S. so we can see each ⁣other again‍ and sing, dance, ‌and celebrate⁣ together.”

la Onda Fest, known for its mix of Spanish rock, reggaetón, mariachi, and‍ Latin ⁣pop, had Grupo ⁤Firme scheduled to headline⁤ Sunday’s lineup. Organizers announced that Tito Double ‌P ‌will take their place on the Verizon ‍Stage.

This cancellation follows the recent nixing of the Michelada ⁤Festival due ‌to visa volatility. The Michelada fest ‍lineup⁣ included luis R. Conriquez, Los Alegres Del barranco, and Netón Vega. After Los Alegres’ visas were revoked⁣ following a‍ controversial performance, organizers canceled the entire festival amid⁤ visa concerns for other⁣ artists.

Securing work visas⁤ for international artists⁤ has become increasingly difficult. Earlier this year, ⁤English ⁣artist FKA Twigs also canceled a U.S. tour due to visa problems.

What’s⁣ next

Fans⁢ await updates on Grupo Firme’s return ‍to ‍the ⁢U.S., while the Latin music ‌community hopes for resolution of visa⁤ issues affecting ‌artist performances.
