Guardiola Sounds the Alarm: Man City Down to Bare Bones with Just 13 Players
Manchester City Faces Injury Crisis Ahead of Bournemouth Clash
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has expressed concerns over the increasing number of injuries to his team’s players, leaving only 13 players available for selection.
The team’s injury woes were evident in their recent League Cup match against Tottenham, where they lost 1/2 goal. Key players such as Kyle Walker, Rodri, Oscar Pope, Jeremy Docu, Kevin De Bruyne, and Jack Grealish were already ruled out before the match, while Manuel Akanji was also sidelined due to muscle pain.
The situation took a turn for the worse when Sevinho was stretchered off in the second half, adding to Guardiola’s concerns ahead of their upcoming match against Bournemouth and Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.
“We have 13 players, so we are in a very difficult situation,” Guardiola admitted. “The players who played the match were suffering from some problems. We will see how their recovery process goes.”
Guardiola also praised the resilience of his players, saying, “The players out there are fighting for survival, they’re tough on themselves, and they’re focusing on us. The players I will never forget.”
Guardiola’s Concerns Over Player Fitness
Guardiola expressed concerns over the fitness of his players, particularly Robin, who has been struggling with injuries. “Robin suffers at times. Game after game it gets harder,” he said.
