Federal authorities have charged nine individuals, including rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30, in connection with the January 10, 2026, kidnapping and armed robbery of Gucci Mane and other music industry professionals at a recording studio in Dallas.
The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, announced the charges in a press release on April 2, 2026. According to the Department of Justice, the suspects orchestrated a violent ambush after luring the victims to Texas under the guise of a business meeting.
The January 10 Ambush
The incident occurred on January 10, 2026, when three music industry professionals traveled to Dallas for a meeting arranged by Pooh Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr. The stated purpose of the meeting was to discuss the terms of a recording contract involving Pooh Shiesty, who is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label.
Investigators state that the suspects entered the studio on Dallas Parkway at approximately 3:43 p.m. Once inside, the group quickly separated the victims. Pooh Shiesty allegedly took Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Delantic Davis, into a recording room, while other suspects remained in the control room.
Inside the recording room, Pooh Shiesty allegedly brandished an AK-style pistol and forced Gucci Mane to sign paperwork at gunpoint that would release the rapper from his recording contract.
Simultaneously, other suspects drew firearms and robbed the remaining individuals in the studio. One victim was pushed onto a couch and robbed of jewelry and a wallet. Another victim was choked from behind until they were nearly unconscious and robbed of a Louis Vuitton bag, a Rolex watch, and other valuables.
Rapper Big30, whose legal name is Rodney Lamont Wright Jr., is accused of barricading the studio door during the robbery.

Eight of the nine suspects were arrested on April 1, 2026, in coordinated operations across Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville. The arrested individuals include:
